I'd definitely encourage you to check out Bobbi Brown. I'm convinced the woman does wonders for makeup matches. I've been inspired to learn more about Bobbi Brown makeup and her techniques. And I would definitely say try her foundation. It's probably the best I've tried so far. Ebony_Jewel--I think it would be a great book for you. From what I've been told about Bobbi Brown and from my experience, her philosophy isn't to have the makeup look obvious or caked on, but she goes for a very natural look. Otherwise, I just dont see the need for foundation & all that other stuff. My skin isn't perfect, but my skin tone isn't bad. I don't care for makeup because when I look at other black women I think wow your makeup looks terrible, it looks shiny, almost like their face is covered in plastic. Now with that said, I've been toying with the idea of finally giving makeup a try, but have no clue where to start as far as application goes, so maybe this will be a great book for me! I read her book Beauty of Color. It inspired me to know that I could wear bright colors even though I have a dark complexion. I have some of her stuff. i have been lucky enough to try the foundation.
